 The Itinerary

DAY 1

Saturday

ARRIVAL FROM 5PM

Welcome drinks and canapes served in the garden.

3 course dinner with wine.

Late supper for those arriving on the night flight to Aighero

 

 

 

DAY 2

Sunday

Welcome and introductory talk by your tutor. We will spend the morning painting in the grounds of Palazzo Minerva.

Typical Sardinian countryside lunch with wine and refreshments served on the terrace at Palazzo Minerva.

3.00pm

 

Afternoon spent painting in the ground of Palazzo Minerva.

Glass of wine and canapds served in the bar.

DAY 3

Monday

FULL DAY EXCURSION

Depart to our painting location Aighero, a distinctly Spanish influenced town, with Spanish towers and surrounded by the old bastion walls. From the fortifications along the lungomare (promenade) we will enjoy magnificent panoramic views across the bay of Aighero as far as theimposing rocks of Capo Caccia.

Packed lunch with refreshments on location. Free time for you to do a

bit of souvenir shopping!

2.00pm

 

Our excursion this afternoon will take us to the impressive rock formations created by the wind and sea at Capo Caccia, the most westerly point of the island, but not before you have the chance of visiting the Nuragic complex of Palmavera, the main tower of which dates back from the 14th ‑ century BC and/or enjoying a dip in the

sea at the beautiful Le Bombarde beach, regarded as being among the most beautiful beaches in Sardinia.

DAY 4

Tuesday

 

6.00am

Transfer by car to the nearby hilltop village of Monteleone Roccadoria from where you can enjoy breathtaking views over Lake Temo. This small, traditional Sardinian village has been very well preserved and the churches of Santo Stefano and SantAntonio deserve a visit. The peace and tranquillity of this place is sure to inspire today's painting.

DAY 5

Wednesday

FULL DAY EXCURSION

Depart to the riverside town of Bosa, which offers an abundance of

inspirational scenery for this morning's painting, from the palm tree­

lined esplanade with views out over beautiful coloured fishing boats,

to the old town famous for its maze of narrow alleys and tall houses.

Packed lunch with refreshments on location. Free time for you to relax by the riverside!

2.00pm

 

This afternoon there is an option to visit the towns' medieval castle,

Castello Malaspina, built in 1112, and nowadays the pride of the

town's inhabitants. From the Castle it is possible to enjoy magnificent

views of Bosa, river Temo and the sea.

DAY 6

Thursday

FULL DAY EXCURSION

Depart for a leisurely drive to the inland of Sardinia on a scenic route into the Vermentino wine region. Enjoy the picturesque countryside, passing through vineyards, overlooked by the Limbara mountain chain. We will spend the morning painting in the private grounds of the vineyard belonging to Maria's family.

Light refreshments upon arrival.

2.00pm

 

A typical countryside lunch will be served on the terrace of the vineyard house where we will share a glass of wine with the person who made it!

DAY 7

Friday

Our final full day will be spent as on our first day painting in the

grounds of Palazzo Minerva. Now that you are acquainted with the

property you may have a favourite spot to paint!

Our last painting session of the week will conclude with an appraisal of

your week's work.
